EU Parliament Call For UN War Crime Inquiry On Sri Lanka PDF Print E-mail

The European Parliament passed a joint motion asking UN to investigate all crimes committed by Sri Lanka. The European Parliament’s position on the 19th Session on the UN Human Rights Council resolution says ”Stresses the need to further support efforts to strengthen the accountability process in Sri Lanka and continue to call for the establishment of a UN Commission of inquiry into all crimes committed, as recommended by the UN Secretary General’s panel of Experts on Sri Lanka; invites the Sri Lankan government to launch an invitation to the UN Special rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression”
